3. Summary:
The Court considered the petitioners’ request to shift the Boat Race from 28.12.2025 to 01.02.2026 due to an agreement with boat owners. The Government Pleader agreed that the request could be entertained. Consequently, the Court issued an interim order directing the District Collector to grant permission for the race on 01.02.2026. The District Police Chief was instructed to deploy adequate police personnel, with deployment costs to be borne by the petitioners. The writ petition is to be posted on 20.02.2026.

Judgment :-

1. Read interim order dated 11.12.2025.

2. It is submitted that though this Court directed the District Collector to grant permission to the petitioners to conduct the Boat Race at the specified location on 28.12.2025, the Boat Race could not be conducted on that date in view of agreement by the CBL with the boat owners. In the circumstances, the petitioners propose to conduct the Boat Race on 01.02.2026.

3. Government Pleader submits that the request can be considered.

4. In view of the afore facts, there will be an interim order directing the District Collector to grant permission to the petitioners to conduct the Boat Race at the specified location on 01.02.2026. The District Police Chief shall direct deployment of sufficient police personnel to maintain law and order during the conduct of the race. The expenses for such deployment shall be met by the petitioners.

Post the writ petition on 20.02.2026.
