1. Applicant is in judicial custody in Session Trial No.238 of 2018, State vs. Deepak Mehta, under Sections 323, 324, 325, 326, 504, 506 and 308 IPC, Police Station Gadarpur, District Udham Singh Nagar. He has sought his release on short term bail.

2. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

3. There is a short term bail application in this criminal appeal on the ground that the marriage of the daughter of the appellant/applicant is fixed for 10.02.2026 and their wedding ceremonies are scheduled to take place on the said date along with pre and post-wedding ceremonies for which his presence would be necessary.

4. Today, learned State Counsel has placed before the Hon'ble Court the written instructions, wherein, the scheduled marriage has been verified.

5. In view of the above, the Short Term Bail Application (IA No.3 of 2026) is allowed.

6. At this stage, learned counsel for the applicant would submit that instant bail application may be treated as a short term bail application.

7. Without adverting to the merit purely on humanitarian grounds, this Court is of the view that the applicant may be enlarged on short term bail for three weeks' from the date of his release.

8. Accordingly, the applicant shall be enlarged on short term bail for a period of 3 weeks from the date of his release, subject to his furnishing a personal bond and two reliable sureties, each of the like amount, to the satisfaction of the court concerned.

9. After expiry of the aforesaid period of short term bail, the applicant shall surrender before the court concerned and an information to this effect shall be forwarded to this Court.

10. The bail application stands disposed of accordingly.
