1. By this petition, petitioners seeks following prayers:

                   “(A) This Writ Petition may kindly be allowed;

                   (B) This Hon’ble Court may be pleased to quash and set aside the impugned decision of the Statue Committee, Chatrapati Sambhajinagar consisting of respondent nos. 2 to 6, dated 9.04.2025 thereby directing the respondent nos. 2 to 6 to grant permission in favour of petitioner to install statue of Periyar Ramaswami Naykar in Gut No. 278, Grampanchayat Property o. 5667 situated at Waluj, Lanzi Road Area, Tal. Gangapur, District Chatrapati Sambhajinagar and for that purpose issue necessary orders;”

2. Heard learned advocate for the petitioner and learned AGP for State. Perused the documents annexed to the petition as well as confidential report made available by the learned AGP.

3. Admittedly, petitioner seeks direction to install the statue of Periyar Ramaswami Naykar, who has whatsoever no concern with the State of Maharashtra. The report submitted by the Police Inspector is adverse to the installation of statue. The permission is rejected to the petitioner on the ground that there would be law and order situation if the permission is granted to install the statue. Petitioner has no enforceable legal right to claim that permission must be granted to install the statue. We do not find any illegality or perversity in denying permission to the petitioner. No case is made out by the petitioner to interfere in the extra ordinary writ jurisdiction. Writ petition being devoid of merit is dismissed.
