MINIMUM WAGES (TAMIL NADU AMENDMENT) ACT, 1981

Received the assent of the President on the 5th August 1981 and first published in Part IV - Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 10th August 1981.
An Act further to amend the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 in its application to the State of Tamil Nadu.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows : -
1. Short title, extent and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the Minimum Wages (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 1981.
(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.
2. Insertion of new section 9-A. - In the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (Central Act XI of 1948), after section 9, the following section shall be inserted, namely : -
9A. Saving. - No order of the State Government nominating any person as the Chairman or a member of the Advisory Board or a committee or sub-committee shall be called in question in any manner and no act or proceeding before any Board, committee or sub-committee shall be called in question in any manner in any Court of law on the ground merely of the existence of any vacancy in or of any defect or irregularity in the constitution of, such Board, committee or sub-committee.".
