THE KARNATAKA URBAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2017

An Act further to amend the Karnataka Urban Development Authorities Act, 1987.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Urban Development Authorities Act, 1987 (Karnataka Act 34 of 1987), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the sixty eighth year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Urban Development Authorities (Amendment) Act, 2017.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 36.- In the Karnataka Urban Development Authorities Act, 1987 (Karnataka Act 34 of 1987), in section 36,-
(i) in sub-section (1), for the words and figures “of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894” the words and figures “of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013” shall be substituted;
(ii) in sub-section (2), for the words, brackets and figures “sub-section (2) of section 50 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894”, the words, brackets and figures, “sub-section (2) of section 95 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013” shall be substituted; and
(iii) in sub-section (3), for the words and figures “section 16 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894”, the words and figures, “section 23 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013” shall be substituted.
