THE KARNATAKA STATE RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2017

An Act to amend the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University Act, 2016.
Whereas, it is expedient to amend the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University Act, 2016 (Karnataka Act 16 of 2016) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the Sixty Eighth year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University (Amendment) Act, 2017.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 15.- In the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University Act, 2016 (Karnataka Act 16 of 2016) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), in section15, in sub-section(3) for the words “Sixty five years”, the words “Sixty seven years”, shall be and shall always be deem to have been substituted.
3. Amendment of section17.- In section 17 of the Principal Act,-
(a) in sub-section (1), in the proviso, after the word “designate”, the words “Registrar in case if he is a Professor or” shall be inserted; and
(b) in sub-section (2), after the word “unfilled” the words “Registrar in case if he is a Professor or” shall be inserted.
