THE KARNATAKA STATE CIVIL SERVICES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020

An Act further to amend the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978. Whereas, it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka State Civil
Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the seventy first year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka State Civil Services (Amendment) Act, 2020.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 2.- In the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990),in section 2,for clause (4a), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“(4a) ‘Special Board’ means the Board consisting of the Chief Minister, the Minister-in-charge of Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation, the Minister- in-charge of Finance, the Chairman in case of the Karnataka Legislative Council and the Speaker in case of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, as the case may be”.
