THE KARNATAKA CERTAIN INAMS ABOLITION AND CERTAIN OTHER LAW (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2021

An Act further to amend the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition Act, 1977 and the Karnataka (Sandur Area) Inams Abolition Act, 1976.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition Act, 1977 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1978) and the Karnataka (Sandur Area) Inams Abolition Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 54 of 1976), for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the Seventy Second year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.– (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Act, 2021.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of Karnataka Act 10 of 1978.- In section 11 of the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition Act, 1977 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1978) in sub-section (1) and in the proviso there under, for the words, figures and letters "on or before 31st day of March, 1991" the words, figures and brackets "within one year from the date of commencement of the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Act, 2021." shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of Karnataka Act 54 of 1976.- In section 10 of the Karnataka (Sandur Area) Inams Abolition Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 54 of 1976), for the words, figures and letters "on or before 31st day of March, 1991" the words, figures and brackets "within one year from the date of commencement of the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Act, 2021." shall be substituted.
