THE UNIVERSITY OF RAJASTHAN (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1950
RAJASTHAN ACT 11 OF 1950
Notification No. F. 12(23) L/50, dated 11-8-1950, Published in Rajasthan Gazette, Extraordinary, Part IV-A, dated 19-8-1950 at pages 123-124. - The following Act made on the 7th day of August, 1950, by His Highness the Raj Pramukh in the exercise of the power conferred on him by article 385 of the Constitution of India is hereby published for general information.

An Act further to amend the University of Rajputana Acts 1946.
Where as it is expedient further to amend the University of Rajputana Acts, 1946, of the Covenanting States for the purposes and in the manner here in after appearing;
It is hereby enacted as follows:-
1. Short title. - This Act may be called the University of Rajputana (Amendment) Act, 1950.
2. Amendment of Section 21. - Sub-section (2) of section 21 of the University of Rajputana Act, 1946 of the covenanting States, hereinafter referred to as the said Acts, shall be omitted.
3. Insertion of new section 39. - After section 38 of the said Acts, the following new section shall be inserted, namely:-
"39. Period of office of members of University authorities. - (1) The members or the authorities of the University specified in section 17, other than ex-officio and life members, if any, shall hold office for a further period of three years;
(2) The Chancellor may in his discretion extend from time to time the period of office specified in sub-section (i), of the members of all or any of the said Authorities:
Provided that the aggregate of any such extention shall not exceed one year.
(3) A member nominated or elected to any such Authority in the capacity as member of a particular body or as the holder of a particular appointment shall hold office so long only with in the period specified in sub-sections (1) and (2) as he continues to be a member of that body or the holder of that appointment, as the case may be."
4. Amendment of statutes. - Notwithstanding anything contained in section 28 of the said Acts, sub-section (8) of statute 5, sub-statute (2) of statute 8 and sub-statute (2) of statute 11 of the statutes of the University of Rajputana set out in the schedule to the said Acts shall be omitted. |
