BOMBAY DISTRICT MUNICIPAL (SAURASHTRA AREA) AND BOMBAY BOROUGHS (SAURASHTRA AND KUTCH AREAS)(GUJARAT AMENDMENT) ACT, 1961
GUJARAT ACT No.XIV OF 1961
(First published, after having received the assent of the Governor in the “Gujarat Government Gazette” on the 29th April 1961).
An Act to amend the Bombay District Municipal Act, 1901 as applied to the Saurashtra area and the Bombay Municipal Boroughs Act, 1925 as applied to the Saurashtra and Kutch areas of the State of Gujarat.
It is hereby enacted in the Twelfth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. This Act may be called the Bombay District Municipal (Saurashtra Area) and Bombay Boroughs (Saurashtra and Kutch Areas)(Gujarat Amendment) Act, 1961.
Amendment of section 179 of Bom. II of 1901 as applied to Saurashtra area.
2. In the Bombay District Municipal Act, 1901 as adapted and applied to the Saurashtra area of the Gujarat State in Sub-section (1) of section 179, the following words and figures shall be added at the end, namely:-
“Such period may be longer than the term for which the councilors of the municipality
Would have held office under section 17, if the municipality had not been superseded under this section.”.
Amendment of section 219 of Bom. XVIII 1925 applied Saurashtra and Kutch area.
3. In the Bombay Municipal Boroughs Act, 1925 as adapted and applied to the Saurashtra area of the Gujarat State and that Act as extended to the Kutch area of the Gujarat State in Sub-section (1) of section 219, the following words and figures shall be added at the end, namely:-
“Such period may be longer than the term for which the councilors of the municipality would have held office under section 24 or 25, it the municipality had not been superseded under this section.”. |
