GUJARAT STATE UNIVERSITIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1963
GUJARAT ACT NO. XL OF 1963.
[First published, after having received the assent of the Governor in the “Gujarat Government Gazettes” on the 2nd November 1963.
An Act to amend the Gujarat University Act, 1949, the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda Act, 1949 and the Sardar Vallabhai Vidyapeeth Act, 1955.
It is hereby enacted in the Fourteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Short title.
1. This Act may be called the Gujarat State Universities (Amendment) Act, 1963.
Amendment of certain University Acts.
2. Each of the Acts specified in the second column of the Schedule shall be amended in the manner, and to the extent, specified against it in the third column thereof.

The Gujarat University Act, 1949 (Bom. L of 1949).

(1) In section 3,
(i) In sub-section (3), for the words “of the University” the words “of the University to raise loans upon the security of its assets” shall be substituted and;
|
(ii) To sub-section (3) the following proviso shall be added, namely:-
“Provided that the power to raise and upon the security of its assets shall be exercised after obtaining previous permission of the state Government.

(2) In section 20, in sub-section (1), after clause (viii), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
“(viii-a) to raise loans upon the security of the assets of the University after obtaining previous permission of the State Government;”.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda Act, 1949 (Baroda Act No. XVII of 1949).

(1) In section 3
(i) In sub-section (3), for the words “ of the University” the words “of the University to raise loans upon the security of its assets shall be substituted; and
|
(ii) To sub-section (3) the following proviso shall be added, namely:-
“Provided that the power to raise loans upon the security of its assets shall be exercised after obtaining previous permission of the State Government.”.
(2) In section 24, in sub-
section (1), after clause (ix), the following clause shall be inserted namely:-

“(ix-a) to raise loans upon the security of the assets of the University after obtaining pervious permission of the State Government;”.

The Sardar Vallabhai Vidyapeeth Act, 1955 (Bom. XL of 1955.
|
(1) In section 3,
(i) In sub-section (2), for the words “of the University” the words “of the University to raise loans upon the security of its assets” shall be substituted; and
(ii) to sub-section (2), the following proviso shall be added, namely:-

“provided that the power to raise loans upon the security of its assets shall be exercised after obtaining previous permission of the State Government.”.

(2) In section 23, in sub-section (1), after clause (ix), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
“(ix-a) to raise loans upon the security of the assets of the University after obtaining previous permission of the State Government;”.
