An Act to provide for the alteration of seals prescribed in the Letters Patent of the High Court and. certain enactments.
WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the alteration of seals prescribed in the Letters Patent of the High Court of Judicature for the Presidency of Bombay, bearing date the twenty-eighth day of December, One thousand eight hundred and sixty five, and the Bombay Civil Courts Act, 1869; It is hereby enacted as follows
SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT.
(1) This Act may be called the Bombay Seals Act, 1949.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Provincial Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
SECTION 02: AMENDMENT OF CLAUSE 6 OF THE LETTERS PATENT OF 28TH DECEMBER, 1865.
In clause 6 of the Letters Patent of the High Court of Judicature for the Presidency of Bombay, bearing date the twenty-eighth day of December, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, for the words "Our Royal Arms" the words "the Asoka Capital Motif" shall be substituted.
