ASSAM ACT NO. VIII OF 2008 (Received the assent of the Governor on 3rd April, 2008) THE TIWA AUTONOMOUS COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 An Act further to amend the Tiwa Autonomous Council Act, 1995. Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Tiwa Autonomous Council Act, 1995, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement 1. (1) The Act may be called the Tiwa Autonomous Council (Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. Amendment of section 2 2. In the principal Act, in section 2, after existing clause (a), the following new clause (as) shall be inserted, namely:- “(aa) “Authority” means the Authority as may be notified under this clause by the Government for carrying out the duties and functions assigned to it under this Act.” Amendment of section 50 3. In the principal Act, in section 50, in sub-section (4), for the word “Commission”, the word “Authority” shall be substituted. Amendment of section 52. 4. In the principal Act, in section 52, for the word “Commission”, the word “Authority” shall be substituted. Amendment of section 57. 5. In the principal Act, in section 57, forthe word “Commission”, the word “Authority” shall be substituted. Amendment of section 60. 6. In the principal Act, in section 60, in clause (a), for the word “Commission”, the word “Authority” shall be substituted. |
