THE ASSAM KAZIRANGA UNIVERSITY ACT, 2012 ASSAM ACT NO. VII OF 2012 (Received the assent of the Governor on 5th April, 2012) THE ASSAM KAZIRANGA UNIVERSITY ACT, 2012 An Act to establish a private University under the name and style “The Assam Kaziranga University” under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007. Preamble Whereas it is expedient to establish a Private University under the name and style the Assam Kaziranga University under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Kaziranga University Act, 2012. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam, (3) It shall come into force at one. Establishment of the Assam Kaziranga University 2. (1) For furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of higher education and research, there shall be established a Private University under the name and style “The Assam Kaziranga University” in the Sate of Assam. (2) The details regarding name, location, jurisdiction and infrastructure of the said University are mentioned in the Schedule appended to this Act.
