THE HOOGHLY RIVER BRIDGE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2013
West Bengal Act XXV of 2013

An Act to amend the Hooghly River Bridge Act, 1969.
WHEREAS is expedient to amend the Hooghly River Bridge Act, 1969, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
Short title and commencement.
1. (1) This Act may be called the Hooghly River Bridge (Amendment) Act, 2013.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

(Section 2.)
Amendment of section 9 of West Ben. Act XXXVI of 1969.
2. In section 9 of the Hooghly River Bridge Act, 1969,-
(1) In clause (a), for the words "suitable; and", the word "suitable;" shall be substituted;
(2) In clause (b), for the word "approaches.", the word "approaches;" shall be substituted; and
(3) After clause (b), the following clauses shall be inserted:-
"(c) to perform such works of planning, designing, preparation of preliminary and detailed engineering, construction, repair, renovation, supervision and maintenance of buildings, roads, flyovers, bridges, stadium etc., quality testing, project management, and enquiry relating to technical matters, as the State Government may direct; and
(d) to perform such other works of the State Government or its organizations, as the State Government may direct." |
