ASSAM ACT NO. XXII OF 2009 (Received the assent of Governor on 26th August, 2009) THE ASSAM NAGARA RAJ (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2009 An Act further to amend the Assam Nagara Raj Act, 2007. Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Nagara Raj Act, 2007, hereafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing. It is hereby enacted in the Sixtieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Nagara Raj (Amendment) Act, 2009. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam excluding cantonment areas therein. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf. Amendment of Section 12 2. In the principal Act, in section 12, in sub-section (1), for the words “within 6 months of” the words “simultaneously with” shall be substituted. |
