THE REQUISITIONING AND ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1961

An Act further to amend the Requisitioning and Acquisition of Property Act, 1955

Preamble . — WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Requisi­tioning and Acquisition of Property Act, I955, for the purpose herein­ after appearing;

Be it enacted m the Twelfth Year of the Republic of India as follows: —

     1. Short title and commencement. — (1) This Act may be called the Requisitioning and

                   Acquisition of Property (Amendment) Act, 1961.

              (2) It shall come into force at once.

     2. Amendment of section 1. —In sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Requisitioning and Acquisition of Property Act, 1955 (Act I of 1956), for the words " six years", the words "twelve years" shall be sub­ stituted.
