An Act to amend Act XXI of 1836 The Bengal Districts Act, 1836. Preamble: WHEREAS it is expedient to amend Act XXI of 1836, The Bengal Districts Act, 1836. It is enacted as follows:- Lieutenant Governor may alter limits of existing zilas:- It shall be lawful for the Lieutenant- Governor The Words “of Bengal” were omitted by para. 3(1) and the Schedule of the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts) Order, 1948. ** from time to time to alter the limits of existing zilas in any part of the Substituted for the word “Provinces” by para 4(1) of the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.[State] Substituted for the words “subject to the control of the said Provincial Government” by para 3(1) and the Schedule of the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts ) Order, 1948.[to which this Act extends]. |
