PREAMBLE
An Act to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat 1989.
Be it enacted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature in the fifty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
Section 1 - Short title and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act, 2004.
(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
Section 2 - Amendment of section 488, Act XXIII of Samvat 1989
In sub-section (8) of section 488 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat 1989 for the words "he resides or is" the words "he is, or he or his wife resides" shall be substituted. |
