CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2010

PREAMBLE
An Act further to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat 1989.
Be it enacted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature in the Sixtieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
Section 1 - Short title and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act, 2009.
(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
Section 2 - Amendment in section 251-A, Act No. XXIII of Samvat 1989
In section 251-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat 1989 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Code'), in sub-section (7), for the words "in support of prosecution", the words "in support of prosecution except such evidence which the accused may admit in an application made in this behalf" shall be substituted.
Section 3 - Amendment in section 272, Act No. XIII of Samvat 1989
In section 272 of the Code in sub-section (1), for the words "in support of prosecution", the words "in support of prosecution except such evidence which the accused may admit in an application made in this behalf" shall be substituted. |
