PREAMBLE
An Act to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1997.
Be it enacted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature in the Sixty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:
Section 1 - Short title and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Act, 2010.
(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
Section 2 - Amendment of section 31, Act XXXV of 1997
In section 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1997, in sub-section (7)
(i) in clause (a) for the words "at such rate as it deems reasonable", the words "at such rate, not exceeding 6% as it may deem reasonable"; and
(ii) in clause (b) for the words "eighteen per centum", the words "six per centum", shall be substituted. |
