An Ordinance further to amend the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976.
Whereas the Karnataka Legislative Council is not in session and the Governor of Karnataka is satisfied that the circumstances exist which render it necessary for her to take immediate action further to amend the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1977) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Karnataka is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.
(1) This Ordinance may be called the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of Section 186.
In section 41 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1977),-
(1) in the heading, for the words "Chapter" the words "certain provisions of this Chapter" shall be substituted;
(2) in sub-section (1), for the words "This Chapter" the words "Provisions of section 187 of 244" shall be substituted. |
