STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASONS
Amending Act 25 of 2007.-
It is considered necessary to amend the Karnataka Entertainments Tax Act, 1958 to reduce the tax pay payable by a proprietor of amusement in order to encourage tourism in the State.
Hence the Bill.

THE KARNATAKA ENTERTAINMENTS TAX (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2007
(Received the assent of the Governor on the twenty third day of August 2007)
An Act further to amend the Karnataka Entertainments Tax Act, 1958.
Whereas, it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Entertainments Tax Act, 1958 (Karnataka Act 30 of 1958) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the fifty eighth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.-
(1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Entertainments Tax (Amendment) Act, 2007.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 4-E.-
In section 4-E of the Karnataka Entertainments Tax Act, 1958 (Karnataka Act 30 of 1958), for the words "ten percent" the words "five percent" shall be substituted. |
