THE UTTARAKHAND (THE UTTAR PRADESH WATER SUPPLY AND SEWARAGE ACT, 1975) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 [Act No. 12 of 2008] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Uttarakhand (The Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sewarage Act, 1975) (Adaptation and Modification Order, 2002) Adaptation and Modification Order, 2007 in the context of the State of Uttarakhand Be it enacted by the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Uttarakhand (The Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sewarage Act, 1975) (Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall come into force at once. Section 2 - Insertion of a new sub-section (3) in Section 52 In the Uttarakhand (The Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sewarage Act, 1975) (Adaptation and Modification Order, 2002) Adaptation and Modification Order, 2007, a new sub-section (3) shall be inserted after subsection (2) in Section 52, namely:-- "(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1) and sub-section (2), the State Government may abolish or suspend water tax and sewer tax by notification and may also waive the amount of arrears.". |
