THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1975 [1]

An Act further to amend the Cochin University Act, 1971
Preamble. — WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Cochin University Act, 1971, for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
BE it enacted in the Twenty-sixth Year of the Republic o£ India as follows: —
1. Short title. —This Act may be called the Cochin University (Second Amendment) Act, 1975.
2. Amendment of section 56. — In section 56 of the Cochin University Act, 1971 (30 of 1971) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in the proviso to sub-section (2), for the words "one year and six months", the words "two years and six months" shall be substituted.
3. Repeal and saving. —(1) The Cochin University (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 1975 (4 of 1975), is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act as if this Act had come into force on the 19 th day of June 1975.
