MYSORE TRANSFER OF PROPERTY (EXTENSION TO AGRICULTURAL LAND) ACT, 1951

An Act for extending the operation of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, to agricultural land in the State of Mysore except Bellary District. Whereas, it is expedient to extend the operation of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 (Central Act IV of 1882), to agricultural land in the State of Mysore except Bellary District. It is hereby enacted as follows.-

Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Mysore Transfer of Property (Extension to Agricultural Land) Act, 1951.

(2) It extends to the 33. See the Mysore Adaptation of Laws Order 1953 [whole of the State of Mysore except Bellary District].

(3) It shall come into force at once.

Section 2 The terms "property and "immovable property in Central Act IV of 1882 to include agricultural land

The terms "property" and "immoveable property" in the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, shall include agricultural land.

Section 3 Repeal of Mysore Ordinance III of 1951

The Mysore Transfer of Property (Extension to Agricultural Land) Ordinance, 1951, is hereby repealed:

Provided that the repeal shall not affect the operation of Section 3 of the said Ordinance and anything done and any action taken under the Transfer of Property Act, 1918 (Mysore Act V of 1918), insofar as it relates to agricultural land, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provision of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, as extended to agricultural land by Section 2 of this Act, as if this Act had come into force on the First day of October, 1951.
