MYSORE CUTCHI MEMON ACT, 1943

Whereas, it is expedient that all Cutchi Memons be governed, in matters of succession and inheritance, by the Mohammedan Law. It is hereby enacted as follows.-

Section 1 Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called 11. Substituted for the words and figures "the Cutchi Memon Act, 1943" by Act No.1 of 1956" by Act No.1 of 1956. [the Mysore Cutchi Memon Act, 1943].

(2) It shall come into force on the first day of July, 1943.

Section 2 Cutchi Memons to be governed in certain matters by Mohammadan Law

Subject to the provisions of Section 3, all Cutchi Memons shall, in matters of succession and inheritance, be governed by Mohammadan Law.

Section 3 Savings

Nothing in this Act shall affect any right or liability acquired or incurred before its commencement, or any legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right or liability and any such proceeding or remedy may be continued or enforced as if this Act had not been passed.
