MYSORE CONTRACT (EXTENSION TO AGRICULTURAL LAND) ACT, 1954

An Act for extending the operation of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, to contracts relating to agricultural land. Whereas, it is expedient to extend the operation of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 (Central Act IX of 1872), to contracts relating to agricultural land in the whole of the State of Mysore except Bellary District. Be it enacted by the Mysore State Legislature in the Fifty Year of the Republic of India as follows.-
Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Mysore Contract (Extension to Agricultural Land) Act, 1954.
(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Mysore except Bellary District.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
Section 2 Extension of Central Act IX of 1872, to contracts relating to agricultural land
The Indian Contract Act, 1872 (Central Act IX of 1872), shall apply to contracts relating to agricultural land in the same manner and to the same extent as the said Act applies to contracts other than those relating to agricultural land and, be in force in the whole of the State of Mysore except Bellary District.
Section 3 Repeal of Mysore Act IX of 1872
The Contract Act, 1872 (Mysore Act IX of 1872), is hereby repealed. |
