An Act further to amend the Calicut University Act, 1975

        Preamble.- WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Calicut University Act, 1975, for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

       BE it enacted in the Thirtieth Year of the Republic of India as follows: -

        Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Calicut University (Amendment) Act, 1979.

        (2) It shall be deemed to have com into force on the 3 rd day of July, 1979

         2. Amendment of section 10.-In section 10 of the Calicut University Act, 1975 (5 of 1975) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act),-

        (a) in Sub-section (1), the words “or within such further period, not exceeding one month, as the Chancellor may specify in this behalf” shall be inserted at the end;

          (b) in sub-section (2), for the words “specified in the proceeding sub-section”, the words “specified in or under the said sub-section” shall be substituted.

          3. Repeal and saving.- (1) The Calicut University (Amendment) Ordinance 1979 (6 of 1979), is hereby repealed.

           (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
