An Act for the forfeiture to Government of deposits made on incomplete sales of land under Regulation 8, 18192.3[***], Preamble.- WHEREAS pamidars4[* * *] fraudulently avail themselves of the5provision in Section 9,Regulation 8, 1819, of the Bengal Code6[* * *]that forfeited deposits at sales of land7[* * *] for arrears of rent shall, be applied as if they were purchase- money; It is enacted as follows:-
SECTION 01: REPEALS
- [Repealed by the Repealing Act, 1870(14 of 1870), Section I and Sch. Pt. II]
SECTION 02: APPLICATION OF FORFEITED DEPOSITS
- Any such forteited deposit shall "be applied to defray the expenses of the sale, and the surplus shall be forffcitdd ito Government'.
