THE CALCUTTA LAND-REVENUE ACT, 1856.



Act 18 of 1856



[23rd. August, 1856.]



An Act relating to the administration of the public revenues in the Town of Calcutta.



Whereas it is expedient that the Collector of Calcutta [* * *] should have power to employ any Deputy Collector subordinate to him, in the performance of any part of the duties of his office ; it is enacted as follows :-



1. (Regulations modified.) - Rep. by Act 12 of 1891.



2. [Collector to have charge of collection of stamp duty in Calcutta.] - Rep. by Act 18 of 1869.



3. Collector may entrust any part of his duties to his Deputy. - It shall be lawful for the Collector of Calcutta to employ any Deputy Collector subordinate to him in the performance of any part of the duties of his office under [* * *] Act 23 of 1850 ; and all Rules, Regulations and Acts relating to the office of Deputy Collector shall be of the same force within the town of Calcutta as in other parts of the territories subject to the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal.
