THE BENGAL LAND-REVENUE SETTLEMENT ACT, 1868
Bengal Act 3 of 1868

An Act to amend the law respecting appeals in cases under Regulation 7 of 1822.
Preamble. - Whereas it is expedient that the period for presenting appeals under section 29 of Regulation 7 of 1822 should be assimilated to the period for bringing appeals in other cases pending before the revenue-authorities;
It is hereby enacted as follows :-
1. Limitation of appeals under section 29, Regulation 7 of 1822. - No petition of appeal presented under the provisions of section 29 of Regulation 7 of 1822 shall be received after the expiration of thirty days from the date of the decision against which such appeal is presented, unless sufficient cause shall be shown for the delay to the satisfaction of the authority to which such appeal is presented.
The days shall be reckoned from and exclusive of the day on which the decree was passed, and also exclusive of such time as may be requisite for obtaining a copy of the order appealed against.
2. Commencement of Act. - Repealed by Act 12 of 1873.
