THE UNIVERSITY OF RAJPUTANA (AMENDMENT) ACT 1951

Notification No. F. 12 (24) L/51, dated 20-9-1951, Published in Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary, Part IV-A, dated 22-9-1971, page 245. - The following Act made on the 9th day of September, 1951, by His Highness the Rajpramukh of Rajasthan in exercise of the power conferred on him by Article 385 of the Constitution of India, is hereby published for general information.
An Act further to amend the University of Rajputana Acts, 1946.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the University of Rajputana Acts, 1946, of the covenanting States for the purposes hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows:-
1. Short title. - This Act may be called the University of Rajputana (Amendment) Act, 1951.
2. Substitution of new section for section 39. - For section 39 of the University of Rajputana Acts, 1946, of the covenanting States (hereinafter referred to as the said Acts), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"39. Restrictions on period of office of certain members of University Authorities. - Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or the Statutes thereunder, a person nominated or elected to be a member of any of the University Authorities specified in section 17 in his capacity as the member of a particular body or as the holder of a particular-appointment shall hold office so long only within the period of office prescribed by this Act or the Statutes thereunder for the members of such Authority as he continues to be the member of that body or the holder of that department, as the case may be."
3. Amendment of section 41. - In section 41 of the said Acts, for the words "or otherwise", the words "or as a tabulator" shall be substituted.
