An Act relating to companies which are non-trading corporations



Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in the Ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-



1. Short title, extent and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the Bihar (Non-Trading) Companies Act, 1959.



(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Bihar.



(3) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st April, 1956.



2. Application of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956) to non-trading companies with objects confined to the State of Bihar. - The powers conferred by the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), on the Central Government shall, in relation to companies with objects confined to the State of Bihar which are not trading corporations within the meaning of entries 43 and 44 in List I in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India, be exercised by the State Government and the provisions of the said Act shall, as far as may be, apply to such companies.
