THE KARNATAKA GUARANTEE OF SERVICES TO CITIZENS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2012

An Act to amend the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act, 2011.
Whereas, it is expedient to amend the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2012) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the sixty third year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens (Amendment) Act, 2012.
(2) It shall come into force with effect from the 2nd day of April, 2012.
2. Amendment of title.- In the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2012) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the title "THE KARNATAKA GUARANTEE OF SERVICES TO CITIZENS ACT, 2011", the title "THE KARNATAKA SAKAALA
SERVICES ACT, 2011" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of section 1.- In section 1 of the principal Act, in sub-section (1), for the words, punctuation and figures "The Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act, 2011", the words, punctuation and figures "The Karnataka Sakaala Services Act, 2011" shall be substituted.
4. Amendment of section 10.- In section 10 of the principal Act, in sub-section (1), for the words "Group B officer", the words "Group B or C Officer" shall be substituted.
